Pineapple cookies are very popular in Asia and are usually given as a gift for all occasions. In Singapore, they are extremely popular during the Lunar New year. When spoken in the Fujian dialect, pineapples have very auspicious sounding name, meaning the arrival of wealth and good luck.
During the Lunar New Year, you will find these pineapple cookies in all households proudly displayed on coffee or dinning tables to welcome guests visiting. For the Year of the Ox, we have changed the cookies into cute moos moos and, to celebrate the new year, the cows are holding mini oranges to wish you a prosperous New Year of the Cow.
